NetSuite for PE-backed companies

We get the finance and operations of PE-backed companies onto NetSuite, on budget and on a date the sponsor can plan around. The company gets a back office that scales, and the PE firm gets numbers it can rely on.

Where NetSuite helps a PE-backed company

What we set up for newly acquired businesses, carve-outs and companies growing through acquisitions.

Newly acquired businesses

After the deal closes, most companies need to move off QuickBooks, spreadsheets or an older ERP. We get finance and operations onto NetSuite with the reporting the new owners expect.

Carve-outs on a TSA clock

A carved-out business usually runs on the parent's systems under a Transition Services Agreement. We plan its move to its own NetSuite around the TSA end date, so you are not paying for an extension.

Roll-ups and integration

When your company buys other businesses, each one joins your NetSuite as a new subsidiary on your chart of accounts, items and reports. If earlier acquisitions were brought in quickly, we clean up and optimize the setup so the next one goes faster.

Consolidation and a faster close

NetSuite OneWorld runs every entity and currency in one account, with intercompany eliminations in the system. Consolidated results come straight out of NetSuite, and the close can drop from weeks to days.

Controls and audit trail

Role-based access, approval workflows and a full history on every transaction. Revenue recognition under ASC 606 and IFRS 15 runs in the system. More on revenue recognition →

Ready for exit

Three or more years of clean history in one system gives a buyer's diligence team what it asks for, and shows the finance function can handle growth.

What the project should pay back

A NetSuite project has to earn its cost for the company, and those gains show up in the numbers the sponsor sees. We plan around these outcomes from the start.

  1. 01

    Lower back-office cost

Fewer manual steps in billing, payables, the close and reporting, and fewer spreadsheets kept alongside the system.

  2. 02

    More done per person

Approvals, reconciliations and recurring entries run in NetSuite, so the finance and operations team spends its time on the business.

  3. 03

    Growth without matching headcount

New customers, locations and add-ons go through the same processes, so back-office cost does not rise in step with revenue.

How we run PE-backed projects

Your finance team and your sponsor both need the project to finish on time and on budget, and the system to get used. So that is how we work:

  • Scope and a go-live date agreed up front, built on a setup we have used before
  • A budget built from the Blueprint and tracked against actuals as we go, so you know the cost to complete and nothing comes as a surprise
  • NetSuite's standard features first, and custom code only where the business needs it. That keeps the budget down and upgrades simple.
  • Board and lender reporting built in NetSuite, with the KPIs your sponsor tracks
  • Training and change management in the plan from day one
  • Cutover planned around operations, so production, shipping and billing keep running
  • Certified NetSuite and Celigo consultants, with project experience in manufacturing and software companies

How we deliver

Five phases, the same on every project, planned around your deal dates.

01

Kickstart

Planning

Scope, budget and a go-live date tied to what matters for the deal, such as the TSA end date or the first board meeting.

02

Blueprint

Design

How your processes will run in NetSuite, the reporting the sponsor needs, and an entity structure with room for future acquisitions.

03

Tailor

Build

Standard features first and custom work only where it pays off, with budget against actuals reviewed as we go.

04

Validate

Testing

Your team runs real transactions and a test close in a sandbox, and opening balances are reconciled before go-live.

05

Launch

Training and go-live

Role-based training, a cutover planned around operations, and hands-on support through the first month-end close.

Common questions

Can you work to our TSA end date?

Yes. Give us the date on the first call. We plan the timeline back from it and tell you early if the scope puts it at risk.

How do you keep the project on budget?

We price the work from the Blueprint, track hours against it throughout the build, and report cost to complete to your finance lead, and to the sponsor if you want us to. If scope changes, you see the cost before we do the work.

How quickly can an acquired business join our NetSuite?

Once your setup is in place, adding a subsidiary is mostly data and mapping work. It depends on the acquired company's current systems, so we give you a date after a short review.

Can you review a company's systems before the deal closes?

Yes. We assess its finance and operations systems and tell you what it will take to get them where the business needs to be.

We are already on NetSuite. Can you help?

Yes. We review the setup, fix what is wrong and get it ready for the reporting and growth the sponsor expects.

Who do you work with?

Your company's finance lead and team day to day. When the sponsor wants updates, we keep them in the loop too.
