NetSuite 2026.2: six things worth turning on now

NetSuite 2026.2 is rolling out to accounts in phases through the rest of the year, and SuiteWorld 2026 added a long list of AI announcements on top. Some of it you can use today. A lot of it was a demo or a preview. Here is what we would actually do with it, in the order we would do it.

1. Set up passkeys

Passkey login has been available to all users since July. Users sign in with their device's fingerprint, face or PIN instead of a password, which is faster and much harder to phish. It covers login only, so people still need their password for other actions. Turn it on for your finance team first, since they hold the most sensitive roles.

2. Try the new bank reconciliation screens

The Match Bank Data page now suggests matches for you to review, submits matched and cleared transactions for reconciliation without the extra step, and records who matched and who submitted each one. There is also a Reconciled Status field you can add to searches. If month-end bank recs eat a day of someone's time, test this in sandbox this month.

3. Check your saved searches before exports change

Lists, saved searches and reports now export to .xlsx by default instead of .xls. Most people will never notice. If you have a macro, a Power Query or an outside import that expects the old .xls file, find it now.

4. Fill in AI descriptions on your custom fields

There is a new AI Description field (up to 280 characters) on custom records, fields and transactions. It tells NetSuite's AI what a field means. Ask Oracle can't guess what custbody_approval_tier2 is for. If you plan to use Ask Oracle, start with the 20 custom fields your team uses most. It is an afternoon of admin work and it makes every AI answer better.

5. Turn on project health indicators

For services firms, five new indicators flag time overruns against plan, overdue tasks, resource gaps, margin erosion and approved charges that haven't been billed. Timesheets also get start and end times and an audit trail of changes. Unbilled approved charges alone are worth a look.

6. Pilot Ask Oracle with one team

Ask Oracle, the AI assistant inside NetSuite Next, is live for US and Canadian customers and can be switched on by role or user. In 2026.2 it reads PDFs, spreadsheets and other files, and it shows how it reached an answer, which your controller will want to see. Pick one team and one routine question they ask every week, and see if it saves them time before you roll it out wider.

What we would wait on

Much of what was shown at SuiteWorld, including agents that build workflows, close workspaces and inventory agents, was demonstrated or previewed rather than released. Check availability with your account manager before you plan around any of it. Agents that create records also need the same controls you put on a new employee: limited roles, review before posting, and someone checking the audit trail.
